Don’t know why you’re wishing for things
Throw your coin down the well
Ain’t nothing. What the future will bring
Seen it clear like a bell
Don’t hold any notion of hope
Any fortune never last
You and I just a couple of souls
In a silence till it pass
We threw our things forgot our dreams
And our words can’t be unsaid
We break our strings and mend our seams
And our faith here is our thread
Don’t know why you’re rushing around
Patching mortar in the wall
Nobody will remember your deed
When the pillar start to fall
Don’t hold any object of worth
Any wisdom I could sell
All I’ve got are a couple of
Long winded stories I could tell

Fragile Hearts
04:25

The boy has lost his compass
Like a ship that’s lost it’s way
Drifting out into an ocean
Tossed about on a dark, cold wave
He was never the brightest pupil
He was never the charming kind
He tried to fit in when it seemed cool
It was all in his tortured mind
We build these walls around our fragile hearts
We stake these grounds to keep our lands apart
We search the stars for dreams inside ourselves
I heard the siren’s whispers in a shell
And called it a dream
I came to you for guidance
I turned to you that day
Spoken words in an endless silence
Muted smile and turned away
Where we venture there’ll be no meaning
Never found in a pious tome
Couldn’t stop us from endless dreaming
I will die in this house alone
We build these walls around our fragile hearts
We stake these grounds to keep our lands apart
A stone is thrown in anger, shattered glass
These leaded panes depict a sacred past
Awoke from a dream

Paper Sail

Hang tight baby just for a while
Heaven bless your heart got it running wild
Slow down we’re just breaking through
Things are going to change like we knew they would
In sight of all the dreams that we kept
Lumber through the marsh where the weepers wept
Shadow coat the wall with a flat matte paint
Lighted by the cars on the interstate
Silence for the fallen’s sake
Whispers cause the sky to break
Sold my soul and lost my way
Drifting on a breaking wave
Hold out sugar just for a while
Arrow grazed your heart got it running wild
Hold back it’s a spiteful world
Cinnamon romance got you in a whirl
Protest pound your fists on the desk
Make up in your tears and your hair a mess
Lay down on a bed of nails
Drifting in your dreams with a paper sail
Silence for the fallen’s sake
Whispers cause the sky to break
Sold my soul and lost my way
Drifting on a breaking wave

Mother Celeste
05:29
|
|||
Follow my feet, where will they go?
Sun on the street, what will it sow?
Buildings and walls holding us in
When we escape, life will begin
Follow my dream into the sky
Plucked from a seam, thread through the eye
Woven and loomed into a cloak
Warm while I sleep, cold when I’m woke
Gaze out through the window
Wrap up when the winds blow
Memories of the places and the people that she saw
Running through the willow
No wolf would dare follow
Lay her down to sleep upon a mattress braid of straw
Follow my heart, places I’ve known
Step through a door into a home
Years have gone by, children have grown
Mother Celeste, old and alone
Gaze out through the window
Wrap up when the winds blow
Memories of the places and the people that she saw
Running through the willow
No wolf would dare follow
Lay her down to sleep upon a mattress braid of straw
